Why cocounut oil is great care for curly/wavy extensions

Curly and/or wavy hair requires much more maintenance than straight hair. The way that you handle, wash and style curly/wavy hair extensions should be a lot different than straight hair extensions. Here are a few tips and tricks to acquire longevity in your NB Hair Boutique curly/wavy extensions!

WASH ROUTINE

Use a sulfate free shampoo! Using shampoos with sulfates can strip the hair of its moisture, making it look dull, feel dry and look brittle.

Use a moisturizing conditioner! The conditioner is a curly girl's best friend! Conditioner provides the moisture the curly/wavy locks need.

When washing and/or conditioning hair, do so in sections. Part the hair in sections using an ample amount of product on each section. Shingle (rake or finger comb) the product through the hair, making sure to be gentle while doing so. You can also use a WIDE tooth comb to distribute conditioner through the hair.

Shampoo: Dove moisturizing shampoo, Organix Renewing Argan of Morocco Shampoo, Tresemme Naturals Shampoo, Tresemme Curl Hydration Shampoo

Conditioner: Dove Moisturizing Conditioner, Organix Renewing Argan of Morocco Conditioner, Tresemme Naturals Moisturizing Conditioner, Tresemme Naturals Curl Hydration Conditioner.

DETANGLING

Make sure to detangle curly/wavy hair while it is WET. If you detangle curly/wavy hair while dry, you risk excessive shedding and breakage of the hair. In sections, spray/mist the hair with a water bottle. Using a WIDE tooth comb or paddle brush, lightly comb through the hair until knots and tangles are gone! You can also do this to define the curl or wave pattern of the curly/wavy hair. Doing this every now and then will keep the hair from matting, and keep your curly/wavy hair looking fresh!

PRODUCT SELECTION

For any curly/wavy hair, minimal product use is recommended. If you use a lot of product, this could weigh the hair down, make it greasy and oily. Too much product could also increase the amount of build up on the scalp and dirt that causes the hair scalp to become dirty, faster. Are famous coconut oil caters to curly/Wavy hair, that will define the curl pattern and make your hair soft.

NIGHT TIME ROUTINE

To alleviate matting and tangling, section hair and braid it up at night. Spray slightly with water, braid/or twist from root to tip and cover with a satin bonnet. If you do not braid or twist the hair up at night, you risk the hair matting, and tangling while you sleep. SATIN bonnets and scarves are best for curly/wavy hair. You can also use a satin pillow case, if you don’t have access to a satin bonnet or scarf.
